Three Peaks Challenge

Tom Redfern is raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK
In memory of Mark Redfern

Three Peaks Challenge · 29 August 2026

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Over the August Bank Holiday weekend, Ollie, Harry, Charlie, Tobey, Hatty and I will be taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge. We'll attempt to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in under 24 hours to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of my dad, Mark.

Supporting us every mile of the journey will be Roy and Allen, two of my dad's friends, who have offered to drive our minibus between the mountains. We couldn't take on this challenge without their support.

My dad loved walking. It was one of his favourite activities, and after retiring, he often spoke about his dream of travelling to see one of the world's great mountain ranges. Sadly, pancreatic cancer stole that opportunity from him.

Pancreatic cancer is a devastating disease that often shows no warning signs. My dad had no symptoms at all until his diagnosis. In fact, the day before he experienced his first symptom, he walked more than 10,000 steps. Just 57 days later, we lost him. Our lives changed forever in less than two months.

We're taking on this challenge to honour his memory, raise awareness of this cruel disease, and help fund vital research so that one day more families can have the time we didn't.

If you're able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world to all of us. Every donation will help fund life-saving research and support the fight against pancreatic cancer, helping to give more families the time we didn't have.

Thank you so much for your kindness, encouragement and support.

This one's for you, Dad.
