London Ultra Comedy 17th November 2024 · 17 November 2024 ·

Grove Park Youth Club Building Preservation Trust did the impossible - we saved and refurbished a great youth club when 100's closed. Now we maintain the space and deliver youth services, both directly and with partners, always free of charge, to young people in this poorer part of South East London

Story

Hey! You're here! That means you believe in me, the power of laughter, and the future of Southeast London's youth. Yay you 👏

Thank you for checking out my page and (hopefully) donating to a fantastically worthy cause (if I do say so myself) 🙏 Here's a little background on this silly little endeavour:

Me 🙆🏻‍♀️

I'm Tia; a multicultural actor and educator based in London. For just over a year now, I've had the privilege of growing and giving back in my role as Creative Wellbeing Lead at Grove Park Youth Club. Comedy is simultaneously my biggest comfort and deepest fear. Stand up terrifies me. For the past 8 weeks, however, I've been taking part in a stand up comedy course which will culminate in a debut performance on the 17th of November 2024. Help me.

Grove Park Youth Club 💙

To be dramatic: GPYC is a stronghold of grassroots hopes and dreams for the past, present, and future. The Trust fought to save our 60s purpose-built space from demolition, and breathed new life into it with its open-access Studios programme in 2023. Studios aims to provide a safe, comfortable, and enriching space for young people to hang out and navigate their journeys from 11 to 17 (and beyond, for those with additional needs). Our programming is driven by the youth voice, and our team is dedicated to creating genuine and consistent positive relationships with our young people. Many of them are not afforded these opportunities in other spaces in their lives. Learn more here: www.groveparkyouthclub.co.uk

This silly endeavour 🤡

At GPYC Studios, we make a big thing of providing opportunities for young people to try new things. The biggest hurdle tends to be getting them out of their teenage bubbles of indifference and into the scary unknown. It should be pretty straightforward. All we ask is that they risk the unforgivable: looking silly. So what better way to raise funds for our programme than doing precisely that?

So, now what? 🤑

It would be wonderful if you could contribute towards the good work at Grove Park Youth Club (not to toot my own horn). Any little helps - really!!! Your contribution will help to fund exciting workshops and plenty of pizza for our young people 🛼🥊🎨🍕🥤🍫

And in case you'd like to attend the show and watch my brilliant classmates and I comedy the house down boots: https://www.ultratickets.co.uk/events/ultra-comedy-london-17-11-2024/?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR3va8nQ766u48dZkVprjT3wg_uwzacuHroE6E-lCNSJ6LTeHlqHjK3JF1g_aem_uEp89xpD5rFoIdS6xo4mAg

Thank you and lots of love,

Tia 🥰
