London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

The Rugby Portobello Trust, part of the P3 Charity group, supports children and young people in North Kensington by offering a wide range of activities to help them achieve their personal best and to grow up to become independent adults who can play a full part in their local community.

Story

Dear Friends and loyal RPT supporters- two years has passed since my last marathon and as a glutton for punishment I am running again in aid of the wonderful Rugby Portobello Trust

I know many of you have kindly supported me before and so I hope you will forgive the repeat request but any donation you can give will make the horror of every training run and each step of the race itself a little less painful and more worthwhile!

For those of you who don’t know the charity here is a brief summary of their excellent work and a few figures to give you an example of what your donation could fund.

I know how often we are all asked to give for good causes and how generous you have all been in the past so many many thanks for your support!

The Rugby Portobello Trust is a children's, youth and family support charity that has been supporting the local community for 140 years. We provide a range of activities to help the youngest members of our community build confidence, expand their horizons and realise their potential. Through educational support, art sessions, music programmes, sporting activities, mental health support, mentoring programmes, employment hubs and more, we support children, young people and their families to be happy, healthy and engaged members of society.

RPT remains community-sustained, increasingly dependent on donations, events and local support as statutory funding declines. In 2024/25 the community raised over £1,000,000 in support of its work and volunteers contributed more than 4,500 hours of service.

Annual operating cost: £1,180,462 to run RPT’s programmes and services each year.

(This covers delivery across education, youth work, mentoring, employability and wellbeing — free of charge and open to all who need them.)
