Story
There is a unique pain that comes with preparing a place in your heart for a baby that you are unable to keep. A pain that not many understand.
• 50% of women in the UK will experience or know someone who has experienced pregnancy loss of some kind.
• The NHS have stated that 1 in 8 known pregnancies will end in miscarriage.
• On average 200,000 abortions take place every year in the UK by the NHS.
CRADLE is a national Mental Health charity providing support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy, or termination of pregnancy. Their goal is to prevent feelings of isolation and loneliness that can often follow a traumatic pregnancy experience and to build a community of support for those who have suffered from these experiences. Working closely with the NHS, they also support schools to educate their students in pregnancy outcomes and to raise awareness of life threatening Ectopic Pregnancies.
Tilly is a Doula and has unfortunately come across too many women who have lost their babies before they have even met them. Riki holds a US passport and has been profoundly moved by the effects of current abortion policies on women across the America.
We both hold this charity close to our hearts for separate and personal reasons. Together we want to support women and educate them on the importance of pregnancy loss. So in June, we have decided to do a 8 day climb of the highest Mountian in Africa to show just how strong women can be!
With your donations we are hoping to help many women across the UK and increase the conversation globally about women’s health. Communities, countries and ultimately the world are only as strong as the health of their women.
*Please note all of your donations will 100% be going to CRADLE and the whole trip has been funded out of our own pockets.
