Story
On today's news, I read that four out of five households on universal credit are going without food, turning off the heating and not replacing worn-out clothing - that's from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Please come and join us and chip in to help the Trussell Trust provide food parcels for people who can't afford enough food. Doesn't sound like a life-style choice to me, going hungry...let's do what we can to help.
In December, Threnody puts on festive garb and turns into Côr Nadolig. We will sing carols and Cristmas songs, and read poems and passages on the midwinter/Christmas theme. Songs and readings will be in English and yn Cymraeg. There will be refreshments (home-made cake, even!) and jollity of the seasonal cheer variety. Please reserve your place/s via Eventbrite, tickets are free, there is no minimum donation – but there is no maximum donation either.! You can donate here via JustGiving (please remember to tick GiftAid if it applies to you) and there will be obtrusively-positioned collection buckets to cope with your generosity on the night!

Here's the statement from The Trussell Trust:
Our vision is for a UK without the need for food banks.
We say this because it’s not right that anyone cannot afford their own food. That’s why we are working towards a just, compassionate future, where no one should have to use a food bank to get by.
Our vision is ambitious, but we know that if we work together it is possible. We can create a future where nobody goes hungry, because nobody will allow it – when we work Together for Change.
