This is about Daniel.
We need to raise a minimum of £6000.00 in the next few days to keep Daniel at his current school until the end of this academic year.
In short:
Since September 2023 we have faced enormous battles in trying to ensure Daniel has continuity of learning by remaining at his school, the Dean Close Pre-preparatory School, with the support he needs to progress.
At present he works with a 1:1 teaching assistant during the school day, following specifically tailored learning strategies. Since this support has been in place, Daniel has made accelerated learning progress - it has been amazing to witness and we are so thankful.
School and we have matched the not insignificant additional financial support required over the past few months to ensure a smooth learning journey for Daniel. At present we await LEA funding to come through. Unfortunately, it has transpired the latter is limited, and so there is a shortfall of between £6000 and £9000 that needs to be met swiftly to avoid negative consequences for Daniel.
Despite having been a pressurised and distressing journey over the past few months, we fully trust our Heavenly Father and His providence. At this point, with your help, we would like to attempt to meet the funding gap for Daniel's learning at school to continue uninterrupted for this academic year. We hope to find an alternative placement for him for the subsequent year.
It feels awkward to reach out to friends and family for a request such as this. We have always hoped that Daniel and we as a family might be a blessing to the communities he is in. He is wonderfully settled with his friends and teachers at school, and the Christian community it has provided for him has been a real blessing. If you are able to support his journey at school, we would be so grateful, but if this is not for you, we completely appreciate this, too.
Thank you either way for taking time to consider this.
If you would like the complex, long version of Daniel's story at school and our battles over the past few months, please do call Lucy - she will be happy to fill you in on the details.
