Story
I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (a form of blood cancer) a little over three years ago - it came as an enormous shock - I had always been fit and healthy and suddenly had an incurable cancer. I underwent a stem cell transplant about two years ago and have been having chemotherapy maintenance ever since. I know that at the moment I am free of the cancer but it will come back.
The one thing that gives me hope is all of the amazing research that is being undertaken and this research has definitely prolonged my life expectancy and hopefully one day will find a cure. I have met some of the research scientist's who are undertaking this research and know how much the funding from the Matthew Wilson Multiple Myeloma fund has helped. Research into blood cancer also is providing invaluable help for many other types of cancer.
Tim,Susie,Emily and family will be taking part in this great fundraiser.
Blood Cancer UK and the Matthew Wilson Multiple Myeloma fund have a shared ambition to cure multiple myeloma.
Through investing in science and scientists this fund will improve treatments, survival rates and quality of life for people living with multiple myeloma and drive forward the day when we find a cure.
On 20 September 2025, our amazing team will be trekking a half marathon route through the scenic countryside of West Sussex, all in support of the Matthew Wilson Multiple Myeloma Fund. Together, we can walk towards the day we find a cure.
