Story
This year, I’m pushing myself far beyond my comfort zone by taking on a few major endurance events:
• Lisbon half marathon(8th March 2026)
• Newport marathon(19th April 2026)
• The Full Long Course Weekend(26th-28th June 2026)
• Ironman 70.3 Weymouth(20th September 2026)
These events will test me physically and mentally, With long hours of training, early mornings, tired legs, and plenty of determination, But every mile I swim, bike, and run will be for something far bigger than the finish line.
I’m raising money for the Fragile X Society.
Why the Fragile X Society Matters 💙
I have chosen this charity as it is close to home with three of my cousins children diagnosed with the condition (rhys, Owen and leon) and our family have learnt so much about the challenges and strengths that come with it.
Fragile X syndrome is a genetic condition that affects learning, behaviour and development. It can impact not just the individual, but entire families, who often face daily challenges that many of us never see. Researchers don’t know the exact number of people with fragile X syndrome, But they estimate that worldwide about 1 in 11,000 females and 1 in 7,000 males have fragile X syndrome.
The Fragile X Society provides:
• Support and guidance for families
• Education and awareness about Fragile X
• Advocacy to ensure individuals get the help they deserve
• A strong community for people who can otherwise feel very alone
Their work changes lives — but they can only do it with your support.
Why I’m Doing This 🏊♂️🚴♂️🏃♂️
Endurance sport is tough, but it’s a choice! The challenges faced by those living with Fragile X are not. On the hardest training days and during the toughest moments of each race, I’ll be thinking about why I started and who I’m doing this for. That motivation will carry me forward when my body wants to stop.
How You Can Help 🙏
Every donation, no matter the size, will help the Fragile X Society continue their incredible work. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as valuable.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read, support and encourage me on this journey. Together we can make a real difference.
