As a young man I rode the event each year… but as fatherhood and middle age stagnation came along I hung up my helmet and became an armchair supporter. The pandemic changed my outlook on outdoor activity and pushing myself a little harder and I have ridden the ride for the last few years… as I approach the big 60 - each year the ride becomes a little tougher. But I’m keen to continue as long as I can.

The Borderland MTB Challenge takes riders along green lanes and farm tracks, up and down the foothills of the Berwyn Mountains and is available to riders of all competence however, it’s not for the faint hearted as there is only about 300 mtrs of tarmac and probably no more than that on level ground.

Each year we raise money for the Midlands Air Ambulance and other worthy local charities… please support me by riding with me or sponsoring me to complete the Challenge.
