My niece Alyx was born deaf and died last year aged 17 months. I was due to run the Brecon Beacons 100k to raise money for her last year but due to injury I couldn’t. Sadly a few months later she died suddenly on 11/11/23. Alyx was the happiest child you could meet, her smile would light up the room. She was everyone’s favourite (even though we shouldn’t have favourites). She could sign around 50 words at such a young age. The National Deaf Children’s Society have helped my brother, his wife Katie and Alyx as they do with so many families with deaf children. This is the charity they would like me to raise money for so other children and families can be helped too.

I will be running, walking, crawling this route in memory of Alyx. All donations are very appreciated and will go to helping other deaf children and their families.
