Why We're Running the York 10K

At Chocolate & Co, we believe that everyone deserves a second chance, someone to believe in them, and a place where they feel they belong.

Every day we support people who have faced addiction, homelessness,  social isolation, unemployment, and involvement with the criminal justice system. We don't just serve coffee we provide hope, purpose and opportunity

Through volunteering work placements, paid employment, one-to-one wellbeing support, training, mentoring and a welcoming community, we help people rebuild their confidence and move towards brighter, more independent futures. We've seen people who once believed they had no future gain employment, reconnect with family, improve their wellbeing and begin to believe in themselves again.

But our work doesn't stop there. We're proud to be part of the wider York community, creating an inclusive space where everyone is welcome, reducing loneliness, supporting local people, and bringing communities together through events, activities and genuine human connection.

That's why we're taking on the York 10K.

Every mile we run represents the journey our beneficiaries make one step at a time. There are highs, there are challenges, and sometimes it feels impossible, but with encouragement, support and people cheering you on, amazing things can happen.

By supporting our team, you're not just helping us cross a finish line. You're helping us continue changing lives, creating opportunities, and ensuring that Chocolate & Co remains a place where hope is always on the menu. We are aiming to raise £2000 to continue to do this amazing work.
