Tim's fundraiser for the UK Sepsis Trust

Tim Rooke is raising money for UK Sepsis Trust

The Kirkbymoorside 10k · 3 May 2026

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

On 3rd May, Tim will be taking on the Kirkbymoorside 10K.

Recently “retired”- though retirement in farming is, at best, a flexible concept- he’s been training reasonably hard for the challenge, with enthusiasm varying slightly depending on the weather.

He is running in support of the UK Sepsis Trust, a cause that means a great deal to him after developing sepsis following a serious fall on the farm. It was a difficult experience, and one he is fortunate to have come through — making this run all the more meaningful.

Any support or donations would be hugely appreciated and will help raise awareness and support others affected by sepsis.

Thank you for your support!
