Cycling Lands End to London for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Tim Savage is raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Team: Land's End to London Cycle for Pancreatic Cancer UK

In memory of Phil Taylor & Jeff Shaw

Lands End to London for Panreatic Cancer · 9 April 2026

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

In April I am taking on a personal challenge: a long-distance bike ride in tribute to a couple of people and, to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research.

Last year, a very good friend of mine - Phil Taylor - succumbed to Pancreatic cancer. A man so full of life and energy - with so little chance once he found out he had Pancreatic cancer.

Then, over the last 6 months I have watched my cycle buddies Pete and Neil Shaw suffer as their father battled with it. It’s a horrible cancer with an incredibly high mortality rate.

So, a few of us are cycling from Cornwall to London (Pete & Neils dad loved Cornwall and spent a lot of time there) to raise funds. 130k in the saddle for each of 4 days in April - so it’s likely to be wet and windy! We aren’t trying to do something that kills us - but we all want to raise some funds and awareness!

Anything you can spare would be appreciated - however small!

Tim
