Tim Scales is raising money for APS Support UK
In memory of Craig Cameron

Bruges Half Marathon · 12 October 2025

Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune condition in which there is an increased tendency for the blood to clot. The condition can cause strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary emboli and DVTs. In pregnancy, APS is a leading cause of recurrent miscarriage and stillbirth.

Story

I am raising funds for APS Support UK in memory of Craig Cameron. Craig sadly passed away in 2022 at the age of 33. Craig suffered from antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) which is a disorder of the immune system that increases the risk of blood clots, arterial thrombosis and heart attacks. APS can significantly increase the risk of miscarriage for pregnant women.

APS Support UK's mission is to save and improve the lives of patients affected by the condition, by achieving earlier diagnosis and improving research into the condition so that it is better understood and that treatment is more effective.

Craig was a great friend of mine and a larger-than-life character who gave me more laughs than I care to remember. We shared many great trips to the cricket, as well as fantastic trips abroad. He was taken way too early by this cruel and vicious condition.

I am running the Bruges half-marathon in memory of Craig and any donations are gratefully received.
