Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.

In 2023, my father, John Walker, died suddenly from a heart attack whilst swimming on holiday with his family.

15 months later, my step-father, Paul Godsland, died suddenly at home when a Pulmonary embolism blocked blood flow to his lungs, increasing pressure on his heart's right side, which lead to heart failure.

These were 2 great men who both raised me at different stages of my life and I miss them so much every day. Neither of them lived long enough to meet my son and I feel that both of them should still be around.

I am not a runner and I wanted to set myself a challenge that paid tribute to their hard-working personalities whilst at the same time, raising vital funds for the British Heart Foundation to avoid this happening to other people and their families.

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
