Story
Hi,
The Tour de Trowbridge is a cycling event hosted by Trowbridge's Chamber of Commerce. This year, one of the charity partners is St John Ambulance.
Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through St John Ambulance's training and awareness programmes. We provide first aid in the community and step up in the moments that matter.
We want everyone to be able to get the emergency first aid they need from the people around them, and we've been doing this since 1877 (or 1099 if you prefer!).
I've been a St John Ambulance volunteer first aider for only 3 of those years, providing first aid cover at events. Since January last year, I've also delivered, with my brilliant fellow volunteers, more than 35 free first aid awareness sessions in the community - to schools, clubs, the WI, charities, parishes and in libraries and in town centres, across South Wiltshire.
To do its work, St John Ambulance relies on the generosity of people like you, giving a little to help.
So I'm going to ride about 125km (78 miles) (assuming I don't get too lost) for St John Ambulance on 31 May. Things may be a bit sore after that, but I know it will have been worthwhile!
