Welcome to our fundraising page for the RNIB (Royal National Institute of Blind People). We have been very hard at work creating a fun children's book and music album called Timbertwig and the Wiggly Wood Sock Festival.

This has been a creative collaboration between myself (Darren Prescott), Peet Ellison, Peter Jones and Antonio Pineda. During the lockdown in 2020 my father passed away and I wanted to do something that would lift my spirits and help me through that sad time. I decided to write some songs based on a favourite character from my childhood called Timbertwig who was created by illustrator and writer Peet Ellison. I contacted Peet who showed an interest in my project and encouraged me to continue.

After a few years writing enough songs for an album, Peet then created a story around what I had written (a tricky thing to do!) and brought it to life with some colourful illustrations. He also wrote a song himself (Creepy Crawly Hop) and wrote the lyrics to another (Mr Misfit).

We then brought Peter Jones on board who is a talented musician, songwriter and voiceover artist. He narrated the story and the different characters with some comically brilliant accents, and also added a lot of background music and effects which further enriches the experience for the listener. He also sang a few of the songs (check out Mr Misfit for a brilly ant Scottish accent!). Due to his invaluable contribution, we decided the RNIB would be a fantastic charity to support.

Antonio Pineda also helped enormously by creating a dedicated website for Timbertwig fans at www.timbertwig.co.uk. The audiobook and e-book can be accessed for free at that website and, in return, we would really appreciate it if a contribution could be made to the RNIB either through this JustGiving page or to them directly if you prefer.

How to Order Printed Copy of Timbertwig and the Wiggly Wood Sock Festival (price is normally £7 + p&p).

1. Download the following PDF file to your device: https://tinyurl.com/ttwwsfprintpdf

2. Visit Mixam and register for an account: https://mixam.co.uk/register

3. Open the following link for a Mixam quote which we previously created: https://tinyurl.com/timbertwigbook

4. Optional: update the quantity to the number of books required.

5. Click on “Add to Cart”

6. Click “Continue” (make any changes here if you need to, but the defaults should be fine if you are unsure).

7. Click “Upload File(s)” (you may need to scroll a bit — it’s under the print options).

8. Select the PDF file you downloaded in step 1 above.

9. Wait for the website to upload and process the PDF file. This can take up to 15 minutes to complete. When it has finished all the pages should be displayed on the screen.

10. Click on the the upper green “Details” tab which is step 2 on the Mixam website and is to the right of the “Artwork” tab.

11. Complete the billing and delivery details and click “Save” below the Delivery details section (but not the save button below the purchase order number).

12. Click the green “Payment” tab to the right of the “Details” tab and complete your payment details. Then click the green “Pay £12.50” (or whatever amount is displayed) and follow any further on screen prompts you may have.

Mixam usually take around 3 business days to process the print-on-demand order.
