Story
This year, for my birthday, I am asking for donations instead of gifts for a charity that means a great deal to me and my family.
I use the services of LLBS myself. As I continue my sight loss journey, the support I receive from the charity is crucial. It helps me stay independent, confident, and connected at a time when life can feel uncertain and overwhelming. Knowing that someone understands what I am facing, and is there to help, makes a real difference.
LLBS has supported my family across generations. Both my Mum and my Grandad were supported by the charity, long before I needed help myself. That shared history makes this fundraiser deeply personal. This charity has been there for my family when it mattered most.
LLBS exists to support people with vision impairments. It currently supports over 1,600 people and has been doing this vital work for more than 100 years. Behind those numbers are real people, real families, and real lives changed through practical help, advice, and human connection.
Demand for support is growing, and resources are stretched. The help I rely on, and that many others depend on, is only possible because people choose to donate.
By giving, you are helping ensure that people with sight loss are not left to face life alone, and that this charity can continue supporting future generations just as it has supported mine.
If you can donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
If you cannot, sharing this page still helps more than you may realise.
