This year will be my 13th consecutive entry in the Fred Whitton Challenge as I continue my noble efforts to raise even more for a great local charity and to complete the event in under 7 hours.

Last year didn't end so well, but that is no reason not to keep trying...

You would have thought that the 13th attempt would have been more appropriate for such an abrupt stop, but no, the 13th has got to be the year to smash it.

I do this to myself to support the amazing North West Air Ambulance charity. A charity that provides a vital service for our rural community and is only funded by charitable donations such as yours, one that you hope you will never need to rely on but that so many do.

The audaciousness and tenacity of this event inspire me. A locally run sportive set up in memory of the universally loved Fred Whitton by his mates; a brilliant cyclist who was taken too young.

So, thank you, on behalf of all of the above, for your kindness in choosing to sponsor my efforts in 2024.
