I’m running the World AIDS Day Red Run for Positive East: a charity that means a lot to me, and to many people I care deeply about.

As a gay man, the impact of HIV has never felt distant. I’ve been lucky enough to benefit from HIV medications, and I’m incredibly grateful to live in a time where treatments exist. However, diagnosis, access, stigma, and support are still huge challenges, especially for those without the safety net of strong healthcare, community, or understanding.

I’m running for my friends and partners who live with HIV; I’m running for those who didn’t get the chance to benefit from the treatments we have today; and I’m running because organisations like Positive East continue to show up, offering HIV testing, mental health support, advocacy, and a lifeline for thousands of people across East London.
