Any money that I am grateful to receive will be equally divided between Beds & Herts Historic Churches Trust and St. John The Baptist church, my local church building in Widford, East Herts.

The congregation numbers have fallen considerably over the last twenty years and the majority of those attending are over 70 years old. There are plans for St. John The Baptist to ensure the future financial viability of the building. Among these plans, in no particular order, are:

A first home for the village archive

Reduce the carbon footprint and running costs for heating by changing from oil to electricity

To be able to organise musical concerts and recitals provide a toilet accessible to all and a kitchen/servery to provide refreshments and basic levels of hospitality

A new, safer level path giving access to all into the building from the tower door
