Story
In December 2022, we lost our beloved and wonderful Lorraine to pancreatic cancer after a two and a half year fight with the disease. Her incredible fortitude through this was matched by the tenacity and skill of the team of dedicated clinicians at the Royal Marsden Hospital, led by Professors David Cunningham and Long Jiao, and with amazing care from Dr Nicos Fotiadis and Dr Kaz Mochlinski.
On 22nd June, Tim and Mike, her brothers-in-law, and Jim, a cousin, will be riding across Italy, 173 miles, in a single day, to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, in memory of Lorraine.
Half of us will get cancer in our lifetimes. The Royal Marsden is a global leader in the efforts to make cancer a universally treatable condition.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. It ensures their nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, they will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
