Going the Extra Mile for Cerys ❤️
Tim’s 50km Maverick Challenge in Support of Cerys and DCF
When Cerys was just 3 years old, she underwent a major operation that we fundraised tirelessly for, thanks to the incredible generosity of family, friends and our community.
8 years on, Cerys’s journey is far from over. Cerys has cerebral palsy, and while her operation was a huge milestone, she still requires regular, intensive physiotherapy to maintain her strength, mobility and independence.
Unfortunately, Cerys only receives NHS physiotherapy once every six months, which simply isn’t enough to meet her ongoing needs.
To ensure Cerys can continue accessing the physiotherapy she needs, we fund private sessions, which can cost a significant amount of money. Ideally, she needs weekly sessions, but as you can imagine, the ongoing cost is a huge financial commitment.
Tim has taken on the incredible Maverick Race – 50km around the beautiful but challenging Purbecks! An enormous physical challenge, all to help raise much-needed funds towards Cerys’s ongoing physiotherapy, with the support of DCF (Dorset Children’s Foundation).
As a family, we will always be grateful for the support Cerys received all those years ago. But what many people don’t realise is that the journey doesn’t end after surgery. The hard work continues, and physiotherapy plays a vital role in helping Cerys remain as mobile and independent as possible.
Every donation, big or small, will help Cerys keep moving forward.
Thank you to DCF for their support and to everyone who continues to be part of Cerys’s journey.
Every step I took was another step towards helping my little girl. ❤️
With love and gratitude,
Tim – One very proud Daddy ❤️
