I’m running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon as part of Jhpiego’s Miles for Mothers program, supporting a mission that is saving the lives of women and families around the world.

In many low- and middle-income countries, access to basic maternal care is not guaranteed. Too often, preventable complications during pregnancy and childbirth become life-threatening simply because care isn’t available. Jhpiego works to change that by training healthcare providers, strengthening health systems, and ensuring women have access to safe care when they need it most.

This cause is deeply personal to me. As a healthcare professional, I’ve built my career around improving access to care and empowering individuals through health and movement. Growing up in a rural Alaskan community of just 500 people, I saw how limited resources can shape health outcomes for entire populations. It’s an experience that continues to drive my commitment to equity in healthcare.

Running the NYC Marathon is more than a personal goal, it’s an opportunity to advocate for women who don’t have access to the care they deserve.

100% of every dollar raised goes directly to Jhpiego’s programs, delivering life-saving care to women and families worldwide. Even small donations can make a meaningful impact helping provide essential services like prenatal care, safe childbirth resources, and emergency support when it’s needed most.
