On August 29th 2026, I will be jumping out of a plane, and hopefully falling with grace back down to earth! I'm terrified, but I am going to do it because Statistics currently show that every 75 seconds someone in the UK will receive a cancer diagnosis. So, by the time I have completed my descent, one more life will be affected.

I am doing this to raise money for those impacted by cancer, which at some point in our lives, we all shall be. I have seen this first hand with so many of my friends and family including my Nan, both my parents and four of my best friends who were all diagnosed with cancer. I sadly lost my Nan, Mother, Father and one of my best friends to The Big C. Whilst three of my friends, are now in remission they still live with the trauma of what they went through and the fear of the disease returning everyday.

I have chosen to support CHARM (Cancer Haematology & Related Medicine), a wonderful charity founded by Alvin Printwhistle. When I spoke with Alvin about the work he does and the people he has helped, I was inspired to get involved. CHARM have raised funds for extra nursing in support of the Stem Cell Transplant Service, specialist comfortable new chairs for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment and for the wig-service programme, giving confidence to those who lose their hair during treatment.

CHARM speaks directly to those who work with patients, this way they know exactly what is needed and most importantly what will help. Whether that is additional tea making facilities or medical equipment.

Every penny I raise will go towards this amazing charity.
