Story
I started running about 6 years ago. I turned 50 and thought I needed a new challenge. Those who know me know that I have a lot of energy and I need ways to channel that so thought 'hey, why not try running'. I only ever wanted to be able to run 5k but in the past few years have set myself more challenges. I have run half marathons in the UK and my first one in Spain this year. I ran my first marathon, Brighton, last year and even did an ultra marathon (50k!) in May 2025.
I also work in Children's Services for East Sussex County Council and am passionate about supporting children and families so I was absolutely thrilled when AMAZE asked me to run the London Marathon for them. The work they do is not only needed but a lifeline to families with children with SEND.
This marathon is going to be tough for me but knowing that I am supporting such a fantastic charity will keep me going.
Who are Amaze?
Amaze is a charity that gives information, advice and support to families of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Brighton & Hove and Sussex. They also support young people with SEND up to 25.
