We offer free, UK-wide, accessible online grief support to children and young people (up to 25) who are bereaved or facing the death of someone important, and the parents and carers of babies and children who are dying or have died.

Story

Myself and my sister will be running the Jurassic Coast Ultramarathon of 100km in May 2026. This is going to be an intense event for us but it will be so worth it if we can raise money for this incredible charity.

My son lost his father in 2017 suddenly and unexpectedly. It was a traumatic experience for him and I to go through. My son was one years old and has experienced the pathway of grief over the years. Winston’s wish have been an huge support in his journey. He has been able to understand bereavement and manage his emotions and thoughts.

Alongside helping my son, they have supported my as his mother to support him in a way that encourages a life that enables him to be the most positive he can be.

With the help of Winston’s wish, my son is now thriving and we can talk about his dad in a way that doesn’t upset him and he smiles thinking about him.

The many different resources they have available has enabled him to Every day across the UK, children and young people lose someone significant to them. The death of someone important can be the most traumatic experience a child or young person will ever face.

• £8 could provide a set of crafts and activities, including all of the materials needed to make a memory jar which serve as a reminder of special memories shared with their loved one.

• £12 could enable us to provide one child with a memory box that can be used to store treasured objects, helping them to remember their loved one in a way that is personal to them.

• £26 Could cover the cost of an online information session led by a Winston's Wish bereavement support worker.

Winston’s Wish relies on voluntary charitable donations to support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person. Since 1992, they have helped tens of thousands of bereaved children and young people and, with your help, can help tens of thousands more during the most difficult time of their lives.
