Story
The Teignmouth Festive Walk in the Sea has been held annually on Boxing Day for 15 years to raise funds for the RNLI. The event includes a Fancy-dress Competition which will be judged by the Mayor of Teignmouth at 10:45, followed by a warmup session on the beach at 10:50 and the big Splashdown taking place at 11:00.
All the money raised from sponsorship and donations will go to support Teignmouth’s volunteer lifeboat crew who provide a 24-hour search and rescue service 365 days a year along the South Devon Coastline. It costs in the region of £56k a year to run and maintain the service in Teignmouth, all of which comes from the generous donations of the public.
Your contribution will help to fund the selfless work of our volunteer lifeboat crew in Teignmouth, by doing so you will be helping to save lives around our coast and will be providing the best equipment possible to ensure the safety of our volunteers.
I did say that in 2024 I would like to try and go for at least 2 swims a week, in the sea, to set myself a personal goal and new challenge. I feel this is a good way to start my 2024 challenge off (even though this event is at the end of 2023). Please help me in first kick starting my 2024 challenge and secondly in helping me raise some much needed funds to help keep the Teignmouth RNLI going. Your sponsorship doesn’t need to be lots but every little bit helps. I would like to thank you in advance for any support you can give me.
