In 2015, one of our dearest friends Tina was diagnosed with cancer. Hearing the news was heartbreaking but nothing prepared us for the reality of sitting at her bedside at Barnsley Hospice, not knowing what the future would hold.

I will never forget watching Tina quietly prepare for the possibility of her not being here for the people she loves most (her husband and two sons). She wrote birthday cards for years ahead, graduation cards, wedding cards and created “remember me” boxes filled with her perfume and precious memories for her children to hold on to.

Tina has endured 171 chemotherapy treatments to date and even now in 2026 the fight continues. She continues to face cancer with incredible strength and courage but always with a smile.

On Saturday 6th June, with Barnsley Hospice I will be walking 20 miles to raise vital funds for this amazing charity. My closest friends Sarah, Nicola and Joanne will be right beside me every step of the way.
