Tongariro Alpine Crossing #TJMFTongariroNZ

In memory of our darling Jenna… dad Kenny and uncle George will undertake the world-renowned 19.4 km Tongariro Alpine Crossing in New Zealand on 3rd January 2024, regarded as among the top ten single-day treks in the world.

The crossing passes over the volcanic terrain and lava flows of the multi-cratered active volcano Mount Tongariro (altitude 1978m / 6490ft) passing the eastern base of Mount Ngauruhoe (Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings movies). An active volcano that last erupted in 2012, this trek crosses a landscape of dramatic contrasts - steaming vents, glacial valleys, ancient lava flows, alpine vegetation, and vivid crater lakes, all with stunning views.

Raising money for the Jenna Moriarty Foundation, providing counselling services for children and young people who may not otherwise have the means or opportunity to get the support they need.
