Story
Cycling for George: 250km for the George Baldock Foundation
Sport is about so much more than what happens on the pitch. While only a few make it to the professional level, sport gives every child a chance to belong. It’s where they can find friends, learn the power of teamwork, and build the confidence to become the best version of themselves.
In October 2024, the football world lost George Baldock. As a Sheffield United fan, George was everything I admired in a player. He played with a relentless passion and a 'heart on his sleeve' work ethic that defined our team. But more importantly, the stories shared since his passing reveal the man behind the player: a true gentleman who had time for everyone.
The George Baldock Foundation was established by his family to ensure young people, regardless of their background, have access to the life-changing benefits of sport.
The Challenge
To honour George’s legacy and support the George Baldock Foundation, I will be taking on a 250km bike ride on the opening weekend of the 2026/27 EFL season.
The route connects the clubs that shaped George’s incredible journey, serves as a tribute to his career.
Start: Oxford United
MK Dons
Northampton Town
Finish: Sheffield United
