Kew Gardens Half Marathon 2024 · 31 March 2024 ·

We help homeless people with substance misuse issues through our post-detox and rehab programmes and our network of 29 supported move on houses in London. Addiction and homelessness are twin problems. We believe the journey to recovery from drugs and alcohol begins in a safe, secure environment.

Story

Hi,

we're Tobi and Nico and we challenge ourselves to run the Kew Gardens Half Marathon! We would like to use this opportunity and raise some money for an issue close to both our hearts:

Fighting an addiction in itself is hard and feels almost impossible at times. But fighting this disease while suffering homelessness IS impossible. Recovery needs a save space to sprout and all the energy, focus and support possible. Being faced with the hardships of rough sleeping while trying to recover is a set up to fail and despair.

To break this cycle, KAIROS COMMUNITY TRUST provides sober hostel accommodation, day programme rehab, residential rehab, supported housing and aftercare in a network of abstinence-support hostels and 29 supported Move-on houses in south London.

Therefore we support Kairos Community Trust with this fundraiser and would be very grateful if you join us by donating to their important work!
