Story
I am going to take on the Ben Nevis Ultra Marathon in September.A 32-mile race over the highest mountain in the UK. And as part of that journey, I wanted to find a worthy cause to fundraise for and no other fits better than helping the charitable trust which looks after Ben Nevis.
The John Muir Trust believes that wild places and the experience of wildness are vital to our lives.
The John Muir Trust was founded as a charity in 1983 on the belief that wild places are essential for the well-being of people and wildlife.
The trust has since then fundraised in order to acquire and care for some of the most beautiful areas of wild land in our country, that they may be places "where nature flourishes and where the value of wildness is shared for the benefit of everyone."
They work with others to repair and rewild damaged ecosystems, looking after some of the most magnificent landscapes from the far northwest of Scotland to the Lake District in England.
A cause I am fully behind, as I have been a supporter of their work for many years.
