Story

Hi Everyone,
As many of you will know, it was the Summer of 2022 in Lanzarote when my partners Mum Debbie had her first seizure.
Initially mistaken for Epilepsy, we had no idea that things would change so dramatically over the next 3 years to the pictures above - Deb has now been diagnosed with a form of Leukodystrophy. Her motor skills have aggressively reduced and she now receives around-the-clock care, and those closest to our family know the impact it has had on us all (not least of all Debs).
Leukodystrophies are rare genetic disorders that mainly affect the white matter of the central nervous system (ie the brain or spinal cord). They affect people of all ages and backgrounds, most notably children.
Leukodystrophies are usually degenerative, causing symptoms such as impaired mobility, vision, speech and hearing, incontinence, and loss of cognitive skills. In many cases, this sadly means a reduced or limited lifespan.
Your donation will help Alex TLC continue to provide the best support possible to those affected.
Thank You
