On the night of Thursday, 27th March 2025, I will be sleeping under the stars at The Trenches in Detling Showground, experiencing a glimpse of what many of our nation's heroes endure every single night.

Right now, countless veterans across the UK are facing the harsh reality of homelessness. As winter approaches, organizations like Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) witness an alarming rise in veterans seeking support. These brave individuals often confront extreme weather conditions, poor mental health, hunger, and the biting cold.

At RBLI, they are dedicated to supporting over 340 veterans and their families—those grappling with homelessness, young veteran families starting anew, and older veterans battling health challenges. They provide essential services such as emergency accommodation, toiletries, clothing, and comprehensive mental health and employment support. Their mission is clear: to be a lifeline for these individuals and their families, preserving their well-being and dignity.
