Well it seemed like a good idea at a time. Not really built for long-distance running but how hard can it be ?

My 56th year challenge is the iconic London Marathon. Ditch the odd fag, most of the booze, less time working and more time outside probably not a bad thing but let's see what all this Marathon fuss is about.

I feel very lucky to have grown up in a safe, loving environment and through a combination of hard work and more luck, I have been able to give my own kids the same.

Many young people have never known these things; YMCA exists to provide the essential building blocks for a full and rewarding life: a safe home; acceptance; guidance; friendship; physical and mental health; academic support; employment skills; and access to real opportunities.

We work closely with the YMCA and on a very local level, close to work in SE London.
