Toft Players Triathlon Challenge

Edward Stubbs is raising money for Toft Cricket Club

Toft Players Triathlon Challenge · 27 September 2025

Toft Cricket Club is a community club and provides amateur cricket opportunities to an extensive junior section. The club members enjoy the social, cricket and community aspect of the club.

Story

We’ve set up this page to collect pledges and sponsorship for the Toft Pavilion Fund – with all money raised going towards building the long-awaited new pavilion.

For the past 7 years, our club has been working tirelessly to raise money for a new pavilion – a dream that finally becomes reality in September 2026, when building work will begin.

Over the years, we’ve taken on some big challenges to help fundraise:

2018: We ran from Old Trafford Cricket Ground to Toft (15 miles).

2019: We Cycled 100km back from Derbyshire County Cricket Ground to Toft.

2021 (post Covid-19): We ran from the GMEX in Manchester to Toft (20 miles).

2023: Ed ran 165 miles over 6 days from Bristol to Toft and Jimmy & Foz did a 24 hour batathon.

The 2025 Challenge

Now, as a group of six players, we’re taking on one final challenge to raise funds for the pavilion. On Saturday, 27th September 2025, we’ll be attempting the Toft Triathlon Challenge:

🏊 750m cold-water swim in Bala Lake, North Wales

🚴 63km cycle through the hilly Clwydian Range from Bala to Chester Boughton Hall CC

🏃 Marathon run from Chester to Toft (Knutsford)

8+ hours of movement.

Six already half-injured players.

One last challenge.

We'll see how many make it to the finish...

This challenge is all about pushing ourselves, raising funds, and leaving a lasting legacy for the club and future generations.
