Tom & Martin cycle to Paris.

After 10 long years, I finally asked Kitty, Martin’s daughter, to marry me. The best part of the wedding process? My stag do. When I asked Martin if he would join the celebrations, he came up with a “better idea” to officially welcome me into the family, a bike ride from Putney to Paris…! I’m still not sure if it’s a final test or just Martin’s slightly odd way of bonding, but either way, we’re both taking on the challenge.

We’re riding to raise money for halow, a charity that’s close to both of us. halow equips young adults who have learning disabilities and autism to live a life of purpose.

halow helps people improve their lives for good. This includes helping them learn new skills, become more independent and live the life they want.

And why do halow do this?

Every year we support over 300 young adults in Surrey. Our work also indirectly benefits over 750 family members and friends who care for a person with a learning disability or autism.'
