Story
As many of you will be aware, last summer we tragically lost my wonderful Dad, Philip, to a sudden heart condition. Dad's death has been life changing for us all, and we miss him deeply every day.
In April this year, I'll be running the Paris marathon in honour of Dad, to raise the awareness of various heart diseases and raise money for Cardiomyopathy UK; a charity that helps to identify these conditions and help people with them live long and full lives.
Cardiomyopathy is a disease of the heart muscle: 'cardio’ means heart, ‘myo’ means muscle and ‘pathy’ means disease.
It isn’t a single condition, but a group of conditions that affect the structure of the heart and reduce its ability to pump blood around the body. Around 1 in 250 people in the UK are affected. The majority of these conditions can be treated if not cured if caught early.
To give you that extra little incentive to donate, hitting the £1000 mark will unlock a fancy dress outfit. If any of you saw my performance at London in 2021 you'll have some idea where this might lead...
Thanks for visiting my page, and for donating whatever you can to the cause.
