Cycling for a Cause: #EK12-#RB7 · 20 September 2025

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

🚴‍♂️ Cycling for a Cause: #EK12-#RB7 🚴‍♀️

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page in support of the MND Association.

I’ve teamed up with a brilliant group Jonathan “Wiggo” Wiggins —Mike Ruthen, Paddy (Alan) Esler, Kelly Grove, Dan Scott, , —with essential support from Lisa Wiggins, Lileen Esler, Lindsay Ruthen, and our fantastic rugby family at Harrogate Pythons RUFC.

Together, we’ll be cycling the Leeds–Liverpool Canal, starting at Anfield, riding through to Headingley, and finishing at our home ground, Jim Saynor Ground, Station View, Starbeck—all happening over 6th and 7th September.

This ride is dedicated to:

• 🖤 Eddie Kernoghan (#EK12) – a valued club member recently diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease

• 💙 Rob Burrow (#RB7) – whose courage touched millions and who left us far too soon

Our team name says it all: #EK12-#RB7

Why We Ride

MND is a devastating disease. I’ve seen firsthand the impact it has—not only on those diagnosed but also on the families, friends, and communities around them. This ride is my way of stepping up to make a difference—to raise awareness, support research, and help improve care for those affected.
