Story
Call it a life challenge, a good deed, or maybe just a midlife crisis! But I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to be running the London Marathon this year. I'm doing it to raise funds for , an amazing charity I’m involved with that works to make numeracy accessible and enjoyable for children. They help kids overcome anxieties around maths through hands-on support that makes numbers fun.
Growing up with dyslexia, I often struggled with my reading and writing, whereas maths was always my safe space, a subject where I could shine even when other subjects felt like a struggle.
So, I started volunteering at Number Champions, where each week I give children my time so that they can become more confident in maths, and having volunteered with them for over two years now, I’ve seen firsthand how just a little extra help can turn maths from something intimidating and into something they get excited about and enjoy.
My goal is to raise £1,500 to support Number Champions in their work. Every pound goes toward creating resources and providing hands-on support to kids who need it most.
I’m putting in the miles and training hard, so if you’re able, I would be so grateful for your support. Even a small donation can make a big impact. Thank you.
