Story
Wateraid is one of our favourite charities, and to celebrate the incredible achievement of Scottish Water and CWA teams in completing the Ayrshire-Glasgow Resilience project, a group of hardy cyclists are going to make the journey from source to source in a one day challenge!
That's from Loch Bradan in deepest Ayrshire to Loch Katrine in the Trossachs - the source of Glasgow's Water supply - journey of over 100 miles and with over 2,200m of climbing - in just one day!
The route follows the path of the new pipeline which links the two areas through Ayrshire and the south of Glasgow, picking up the various pumping stations and reservoirs that were built as part of this mega project, before landing at the River Clyde. From there it follows the route of Victorian age infrastructure through Glasgow to Milngavie and then onwards all the way to Loch Katrine.
Its a tough challenge, so please help us raise some money for Wateraid by sponsoring us! Thank you!
Even better if you can add GiftAid
