Amnesty International UK is movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Some of our campaigns includes refugees, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, and conflict-affected countries. When we unite even the smallest acts of humanity make a difference.

Story

We're running a half, BOSH!

Chuffed to be sporting the yellow jersey for Amnesty International UK in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Amnesty is an invaluable organisation; putting aside for a moment their tireless work in defending human rights in times of war across the world, Amnesty has also probably had more of an impact on your life then you'd presume:

Amnesty UK were leaders in the fight to decriminalise abortion and same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland.

They successfully campaigned (and continue to campaign) for stricter operational limits on the use of those scary, dodgy, Orwellian facial recognition cameras you see around now.

They've correctly identified that social care in this country is broken and are tirelessly working to ensure the inalienable right to an adequate standard of living is protected by the government.

And, perhaps most importantly, Amnesty are now on the front line to defend the dignity and privacy of trans people in court, in public opinion, and in our vociferous right-wing press.

(They have also produced countless academic articles and studies which I used completely free of charge that I really ought to try and pay back. So if you disagree with any of the politics of what I've just said, swallow your pride and consider this a repayment for academic material or something).

If you're able, please consider sending over a bit of cash to such a vital cause. It would mean the world to me, and I didn't know this when I signed up but when you run for a charity they actually give you a rep, and mine seems really sound so it'd probably mean the world to him too.

Thank you so so much in advance for your support, AMNESTY BOSH!!!
