Tom's fundraiser for Dementia UK

Tom Jorgensen is raising money for Dementia UK

Ironman Weymouth 70.3 · 20 September 2026

We're proud to support our new charity partner, Dementia UK. Dementia UK is the only UK charity caring for people with dementia and their families, with their specialist dementia Admiral Nurses.

Story

This year, I’m taking on the Weymouth Ironman 70.3 in support of Dementia UK, a charity that provides specialist support to families living with dementia.

Although I haven’t personally had a family member with dementia, I see the impact of this condition every day through my work as an engineer. When I go into people’s homes, I see how deeply dementia affects not just the individual, but their entire family, the stress, the uncertainty, and the emotional toll it takes on everyone involved. Those moments have stayed with me, and they’ve inspired me to do something meaningful to help.

Taking on an Ironman is a huge challenge and one that will test me physically and mentally - but it’s nothing compared to the challenges families face caring for a loved one with dementia. If taking this on can raise awareness, spark conversations, or help fund the specialist support Dementia UK provides, then every mile will be worth it.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small, it would mean the world. Together, we can help ensure that families facing dementia don’t have to face it alone.

Thank you for your support. Tom
