We want everyone affected by crime to be offered Restorative Justice – a transformative tool that brings harmed and harmer into communication. We increase access to Restorative Justice through impactful publicity; develop best practice to dismantle barriers; and campaign for a fairer justice system.

Story

Hello! This is my first ever 10K race. I'm not planning to break any world records, just to get over the finish line and raise funds for Restorative Justice: a system of criminal justice which focuses on the rehabilitation of offenders through reconciliation with victims and the community at large. I feel this cause is important because it can offer closure and healing to those affected by crime, on both sides.

Why me? are a national charity delivering and promoting Restorative Justice for everyone affected by crime and conflict. Many victims of crime feel sidelined by the criminal justice process. Restorative Justice gives them the chance to ask questions about the incident, explain the impact that it had on them, and have a say in how the harm can be repaired. This restorative dialogue transforms lives by helping people affected by crime to recover, and helping people who commit crime to stop.
