Tom's Fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support

Chase The Sun North 2025 · 21 June 2025 ·
My name is Tom and I am a keen cyclist looking on to take a big challenge in order to help others. I am so aware of the amount of people suffering from cancer and really want to do something meaningful to raise money for such an important charity, that is Macmillan, which gives support to those living with cancer and their loved ones.
I think we all know someone who has lost a loved one to cancer. As well as family members and friends, a work colleague has recently lost a good friend at the age of 53 from cancer. It's just so incredibly sad how quickly it takes a grip and loved ones are gone from your life. Another friend's sister-in-law just been diagnosed with stage four cancer, with no hope of survival. At such times, MacMillan steps in with both the cancer patient and their family to provide the support they need.
Macmillan goes above and beyond to make peoples' lives just a little bit easier at such difficult times. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them. Therefore, I would be so appreciative if you could support my fundraising - any donation is amazing, however small.
Myself, a good friend of mine Neil, and two other colleagues have chosen to take on the challenge of 'Chase The Sun North', which is a whopping 202 miles long cycle from Whitley Bay to finish in Ayr, Scotland. We will be setting off at sunrise at 4.30 a.m and finishing in Scotland before sunset. The ride has an approximate total of 10,000 feet of elevation and features the beautiful countryside and rolling hills! The four of us will be riding as a team. We will also have a support camper meeting us at certain points along the way.
This ride will be the most challenging event I've undertaken and knowing that I'm raising money for such an important cause will motivate me to push to the end. So in advance, thank you for your support, good wishes and donations.
