Every three minutes, someone in the UK develops dementia. This disease robs individuals of their memories, their independence, and eventually, their lives. Over 850,000 people in the UK are currently living with dementia, with Alzheimer's disease being the most common form. By 2025, this number is expected to soar to over 1 million.

Dementia is not just a statistic. It’s a reality for many families nationwide and globally, it is one the leading causes of death in the UK, claiming over 67,000 lives in 2020 alone; mothers, fathers, grandparents, friends, and loved ones.

Behind every person with dementia, there are families and caregivers who struggle to provide the best care possible. Around 700,000 informal caregivers in the UK dedicate their lives to supporting their loved ones, offering care valued at £13.9 billion annually. These heroes often do this at great personal cost, sacrificing their own well-being to ensure that those they love are comfortable, safe and looked after.
