Channel relay swim

Mencap wants a world where people with a learning disability gain an equal right to choice opportunity and respect. We believe that support for the families and carers of people with a learning disability is vital to achieving our vision

Story

Hi, I’m Tom, and I’m taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life so far – swimming the English Channel as part of a relay team.

Swimming has been a huge part of my life for many years. Through training, competitions, and countless hours in the pool, I have worked hard to earn my place on the relay team. Being selected is something I am incredibly proud of.

The English Channel is one of the most challenging swims in the world. Cold water, strong currents, and long hours in difficult conditions will push me both physically and mentally. It is a challenge that will test everything I have learned through swimming.

Alongside this challenge, I am raising money for Mencap. Mencap supports people with learning disabilities and helps them live more independent and fulfilling lives. The work they do makes a real difference to thousands of people and their families.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support this amazing cause and motivate me as I prepare for the swim.

Thank you for supporting me on this journey and helping me make a difference.
