In May 2025, Mike somehow managed to convince Tom it would be a good idea to run a marathon.

As training started, 5km runs were a struggle for both of us, however we have both persisted with our tough training throughout the summer and on 19th October 2025, we will both attempt the Yorkshire Marathon in aid of York St John Communities Centre who provide support for people across North Yorkshire.

The centre provides low cost counselling sessions to make support accessible for those who need it. The centre also provides free services such as a range of support groups and drop in services, a Community Language School for children and a Creative Literacy Hub for children, parents and carers.

The donations the centre receives contribute to a variety of ongoing costs. This includes day-to-day operations such as office administration and marketing, as well as service-specific needs, like providing refreshments for the bereavement café.
