Story
As many of you know, it’s Tom’s turn to celebrate the big 4-0 this year! Ever since I’ve known him, Tom has always said that completing a skydive would make his birthday truly unforgettable — an experience he’d remember for a lifetime.
In September this year, Tom took on his first-ever half marathon, raising money for the incredible charity The Children’s Bereavement Centre. Crossing that finish line was an emotional moment for him, filled with pride and a deep sense of achievement, knowing the meaningful cause behind his efforts.
When I later heard that the charity was organising a skydive to raise even more funds to support children experiencing bereavement, I knew straight away — I had to sign him up! And here we are!
There’s just one small detail… Tom has no idea about the skydive, or that he’ll be completing it in May 2026! So please help me raise the funds needed to support this outstanding charity — and let’s keep it a surprise until his birthday.
All donations and support will be greatly appreciated by myself, Tom, and The Children’s Bereavement Centre.
I (Alex) will currently be lookinng after the fundraising page until Tom has been told in December but then I will hand this page over to him.
The Children’s Bereavement Centre depends on the kindness of supporters like you to help the growing number of children, young people, and families who turn to us after the death or terminal illness of someone they love.
By sponsoring my skydive, you’re not just cheering me on, you’re helping provide care, comfort and support when it’s needed most.
Last year, the Centre supported over 1,550 people, and the need is rising. Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference.
Thank you so much for your support—it means the world.
Chairty information:
The Children’s Bereavement Centre is a local registered charity providing early intervention support for children and young people, age 3-18, who are experiencing life-changing trauma due to the death or terminal-illness of someone they love. Based in Newark the charity has venues across Nottinghamshire and has been providing its unique range of specialist support in Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire for 16 years. During that time we have helped thousands of children and their families and years later we remain the only specific specialist bereavement service for 3-18 year olds in the area and we continue to fill a vital gap in local service provision.
How your donations will help the Children's Bereavement Centre:
